Energy Tips for Your
Home
Electrical
systems that are too small to handle today's electrical
loads along with life styles and bad habits are the leading
causes
of high electricity bills.
Here are a few energy saving tips that can help you to
reduce your electricity cost.
1. Use compact fluorescent light bulb
(CFL's), they really do work. If you use them and they seem to
blow out quickly this is a sign of an electrical problem, not a
light bulb problem.
This table shows regular light bulb wattage, compared to CFL
wattage.

2.Turn the
temperature on your water heater down to 120 degrees(f), by
reducing the temperature you will help to reduce your energy
cost. Having the temperature setting at its highest is the old
way of think, today we have to think in terms of energy
efficiency.
Drain about a gallon of water out of your hot water heater
each year to get rid of sediments that settle to the bottom and
reduce operating efficiency, and cost you money.
3. Remembering to turn off DVD players, video games, television,
and lights in rooms when there is no one in them, These are life
style changes you can make if you are serious about reducing your
energy cost.
With, energy cost expected to go even higher than they currently
are, ask your self "can I really afford not to make the necessary
upgrades and life style changes I need in order to reduce my
energy cost?"
Like my father always told me "If you don't mind paying for it,
they don't mind taking it."
Take this Question to bed with you.......
"If your electrical system is old, outdated or too small to
handle today's electrical loads, how much is it costing your
now?
And how much more will it cost you as the rates skyrocket? |
